Locality Planning Energy (ASX: LPE) Acquires PowerHub for Up to $5.8 Million
Locality Planning Energy will acquire PowerHub for up to $5.803 million. The deal adds active operations and a contracted pipeline spanning up to 76 sites.

Locality Planning Energy Holdings has agreed to acquire PowerHub for up to $5.803 million, expanding its embedded energy network across Australia.
The company will pay $2.8 million at completion from existing cash reserves. Remaining payments depend on pipeline service points being activated within five years.
Settlement was expected on August 13, 2026, the date of the announcement. LPE is acquiring 100% of the Brisbane-based licensed energy retailer.
PowerHub provides embedded network and energy-efficiency services to residential communities and commercial premises. Its portfolio extends LPE’s operations into Tasmania and South Australia, beyond the company’s predominantly Queensland-focused business.
Immediate Scale and Future Pipeline
PowerHub’s portfolio covers up to 76 sites and 4,642 service points. That includes 30 active sites with 1,697 active service points.
A further 187 contracted service points are due to go live by September 2027. PowerHub also has a pipeline of 46 sites containing 2,758 service points.
LPE said the transaction would increase its site count by 18.9% and service points by 11.6%. Those calculations exclude service points announced on July 15 through three residential development partnerships supporting its financial year 2027 pipeline.
The transaction summary allocates the initial payment to 30 sites and 1,883 service points. It assigns the contingent balance to 46 pipeline sites and 2,759 service points.
Consideration Tied to Activations
The payment structure limits the initial cash commitment to $2.8 million. Additional consideration becomes payable only when relevant pipeline service points are activated within the five-year period.
That distinction matters because much of the potential portfolio is not yet active. The eventual total consideration will therefore depend on the pace of site activation.
Pipeline conversion is also subject to factors outside LPE’s control. The company identified counterparty performance, market conditions and regulatory settings among the relevant uncertainties.
Chair Craig Chambers said: “PowerHub extends LPE's platform into new regions and adds scale to an already contracted pipeline.”
Broader Embedded-Network Footprint
LPE supplies electricity, hot water, solar, batteries, electric-vehicle charging and smart-metering services under long-term agreements. Its customers are mainly residential strata and land-lease communities.
The acquisition adds new regional coverage and established developer relationships. It also broadens a platform that has historically concentrated on Queensland.
LPE and PowerHub’s sellers have agreed on an integration plan. The sellers will provide transitional services, with a complete handover targeted by September 30, 2026.
LPE also plans to maintain an ongoing relationship with key PowerHub personnel. This is intended to preserve operating capability and the commercial relationships developed by the acquired business.
Management has committed to transitioning customers without service disruption. The key operational task now is integrating the active portfolio while progressing contracted and pipeline sites toward activation.
