Yandal Resources (ASX: YRL) Hits Record-Grade Gold at Arrakis

Yandal Resources reported the highest-grade intercept yet from its Ironstone Well-Barwidgee project. Further assays will test the geometry and continuity of the interpreted high-grade domain.

Yandal Resources has reported its highest-grade gold intercept yet from the Ironstone Well-Barwidgee Gold Project in Western Australia.

Reverse-circulation hole 26IWBRC0120 returned 20 metres at 8.7 grams per tonne gold from 84 metres. The estimated true width is 13 metres.

That interval included six metres at 28.3 grams per tonne from 84 metres. It also contained three metres at 52.8 grams per tonne from the same depth.

The result came from targeted infill drilling across the 1.3-kilometre Arrakis mineralised system. The program aims to identify high-grade domains within a broader gold discovery.

A Possible New High-Grade Domain

Holes 26IWBRC0120 and 26IWBRC0119 sit on the 6,650-metre north drill line. Yandal said their results indicate another high-grade zone may exist within the Arrakis structure.

Hole 26IWBRC0119 returned 12 metres at 1.8 grams per tonne gold from 31 metres. Its estimated true width was six metres.

That intercept included two metres at 2.7 grams per tonne from 31 metres. It also included three metres at 4.9 grams per tonne from 39 metres.

The intercept is the shallowest reported at Arrakis. Yandal said it lies about 26 metres below surface.

Managing Director Chris Oorschot said: “The headline result from 26IWBRC0120 represents the highest-grade interval returned to date within the IWB Gold Project.”

Previously reported drilling 100 metres south returned 50 metres at 1.3 grams per tonne. That interval included 28 metres at 1.9 grams per tonne.

Together, the results support Yandal’s interpretation of an additional high-grade domain. However, more drilling is required to establish its geometry and continuity.

What the Geology Shows

The headline intercept occurs directly below an intermediate porphyry. It is hosted in partially weathered, heavily deformed dolerite with minor quartz veining.

A nearby diamond tail tests the equivalent position about 60 metres down-dip in fresh rock. Those samples were at the laboratory when Yandal released the announcement.

The company cautioned that very high gold concentrations can smear across sample intervals. This process can artificially increase a reported down-hole intercept length. Further drilling is needed to determine whether smearing affected the result.

Moreover, current drill spacing cannot yet establish geological and grade continuity. Yandal said the available data are not appropriate for estimating a Mineral Resource at Arrakis.

August Results Pipeline

Assays remain outstanding from another 10 reverse-circulation holes, including three holes with diamond-core tails. Results are expected throughout August.

A heritage survey completed in July allows infill drilling on 50-metre-spaced lines across the discovery. Yandal will finalise additional drilling and work programs after receiving further assays.

The company has scheduled a maiden exploration target for Arrakis during the third quarter of 2026. Preliminary metallurgical analysis of fresh-rock mineralisation is also due to begin this quarter.

Arrakis sits within Yandal’s wholly owned Ironstone Well-Barwidgee project. The project covers about 456 square kilometres between the Jundee and Bronzewing mines.
