Asara Resources has intersected 38 metres at 2.1 grams per tonne gold in maiden drilling at Sogosogoba, providing early evidence of a mineralised system beyond the established Massan deposit at its Kada Gold Project in Guinea.

The standout interval in reverse-circulation hole SGRC26-004 began 48 metres downhole and was entirely within the oxide profile. It contained several higher-grade zones, including five metres at 6.1 grams per tonne, five metres at 4.3 grams per tonne and three metres at 5.0 grams per tonne.

The same hole also returned a separate near-surface intersection of 15 metres at 1.4 grams per tonne from nine metres, including two metres at 6.3 grams per tonne.

Sogosogoba sits about eight kilometres northeast of Massan, which accounts for 2.04 million ounces of Kada’s total 2.08-million-ounce Mineral Resource. The new results matter because they are Asara’s first drilling outside Massan and test whether additional deposits could be established around the existing resource base.

Surface anomaly backed by drilling

Only two of the five holes reported were drilled within Sogosogoba’s principal surface anomaly of more than 100 parts per billion gold. Both intersected significant oxide mineralisation.

Alongside SGRC26-004, hole SGRC26-003 returned three metres at 5.0 grams per tonne from 19 metres, including one metre at 14.1 grams per tonne. It also intersected seven metres at 0.8 grams per tonne from 40 metres, including two metres at 2.2 grams per tonne.

Outside the main anomaly, SGRC26-005 produced narrower intervals of one metre at 4.9 grams per tonne and one metre at 3.2 grams per tonne. Holes SGRC26-001 and SGRC26-002 returned no significant intercepts.

All reported lengths are downhole measurements. The programme remains at an early exploration stage and the results do not establish a Mineral Resource at Sogosogoba. However, the two successful holes within the primary anomaly confirm bedrock gold mineralisation beneath the surface geochemical signature.

The weathered oxide profile extends beyond 100 metres deep, giving Asara scope to assess the system’s vertical and lateral continuity through further drilling. The target is also associated with a broader surface gold anomaly and artisanal workings.

Follow-up drilling continues

Asara will continue drilling at Sogosogoba, adjusting hole locations as geological information and assays are received. The company said its historical Newmont dataset for the target is incomplete and will guide interpretation and targeting rather than geological modelling.

In parallel, drilling at Massan will continue to support Mineral Resource conversion and technical work for the ongoing definitive feasibility study. Once the current Sogosogoba campaign is complete, Asara intends to move through the other priority targets in its six-target, drill-ready exploration pipeline.
